The Daily Grind presents...Earth Day Soap Carving with Purple Urchin!
Come and join Sarah and Rebecca of Purple Urchin at The Daily Grind for a unique and fun soap carving tea party.
When: Sunday, April 22nd, 2012 from 2pm-5pm
Where: The Daily Grind Art Cafe at 601 Somerset St. W, Ottawa ON
Tickets: $8 per person in advance, $10 per person at the door (a ticket includes 2 bars of Purple Urchin handmade soap, and a cup of loose-leaf tea provided by The Daily Grind). Tickets are available to purchase online at http://www.eventbrite.ca/event/2886438415
(a small transaction fee applies), or in person at Purple Urchin (882 Somerset St. Ottawa), and The Daily Grind.
Spend an afternoon casually carving Purple Urchin’s handmade soap, mingling, and drinking tea. The more ‘mad hats’ the better! It’s amazing how soap provides the perfect, easy-to-work-with medium to carve words, initials, shapes, and anything else you can dream up.
How fun of a DIY Earth Day activity is that? You can also use the finished soap carvings as part of a tablescape at your next dinner party, and then let guests choose their favourites to take home as party favours at the end of the night. OR keep it simple, and just use them in the bathroom to add a little charm.
* Kids are more than welcome to participate, parental supervision is required. No experience necessary, tools provided, and you can take your creations home.
Make a day out of it and beforehand or afterward, why not grab a bite to eat from The Daily Grind's amazing, gluten-free menu?
Hope to see you there!
