August 16/24: our current batch is on sale due to an approaching best before date (11/24). The best before date is just a guideline and often products can still be used beyond it.

If you live in a cold climate like we do, you'll know how awful your hands can start to look and feel in the winter. The cold outside weather, dry indoor heating, and constant hand-washing (after all, it's flu season!) can all take their toll on our delicate hands.

But fret not! We have a solution to winter cracking and soreness: our 100% natural Winter Hand Balm. With penetrating castor oil, rich shea butter, and healing calendula, this balm is perfect for dryness due to winter weather. Its anti-inflammatory properties are ideal for reducing the discomfort of winter skin irritation and inflammation. Even the essential oils in this balm are known to heal cracks and soothe dryness.

Scent:
Warm, comforting, spicy, with a hint of sweetness (we've been told several times that it smells like Thrills gum). The earthy undertones of benzoin and patchouli really come through, along with the sweetness of the ylang ylang.

Ingredients:
butyspermum parkii (shea butter), calendula officinalis infused olea europaea oil (calendula infused olive oil), prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond oil), cera alba (beeswax), rosa canina fruit oil (rose hip oil),  ricinus communis seed oil (castor oil), citrus sinnensis oil (sweet orange), citrus aurantium bergamia oil (bergamot), pogostemon cablin oil (patchouli), lavandula officinale oil (lavender), cymbopogon martinii oil (palmarosa), citrus aurantium oil (petitgrain), cananga odorata oil (ylang ylang), zingiber officinale root oil (ginger root), vetiveria zizanoides root oil (vetiver), eugenia caryophyllus bud oil (clove bud), mentha piperita oil (peppermint), abies balsamea oil (balsam fir), juniperus communis fruit oil (juniper berry).

How to Use:
A little goes a long way with this hand balm. Apply a pea sized amount onto your hand, thoroughly rubbing it into your skin. Don't forget to massage the balm in between your fingers where dry, cracked skin can be especially problematic.

Shelf Life:
36 months from date of manufacture.

Our products are made with natural ingredients and are free of artificial preservatives. A best before date can be found on the underside of each item, letting you know when the product should be used by.

Please make sure hands are clean and dry before every use so as not to introduce potential dirt or bacteria into the product. Do not allow product to come in contact with water while in its container. This product should be kept away from direct heat in between uses.

Smells Amazing, Works Great

I've only just received the balm, so I can't comment on its long-term use, but I put it on right away. I ADORE the fragrance (can't tell you how tired I am of sickly sweet creams on offer). I soaked in very quickly, also, so there's no greasy residue. I can see a visual improvement already. Lizard skin has been deactivated.

Mostly I'm obsessed with the fragrance.

I would be the happiest camper in the world if this could be made into a full-sized body lotion somehow.

Winter hand balm soothes skin irritation. I’ve also put in on my temples for mild headaches. The scent is comforting, not overwhelming. Any chance of making bigger containers?

Amazing!

I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my husband a couple of years ago, and he still buys it to keep his hands moisturized all winter! I sneak some for myself once in a while too :)

Savior for people who work with their hands

As a bartender my hands are constantly going from wet to dry - this is the only cream I've found that keeps them from cracking and allows me to use my hands while I work because it doesn't leave a greasy residue. I moved away from Ottawa and make a point to stop at Purple Urchin every time I go back to grab some!

Love this hand balm

Best natural hand balm I have used, it doesn't melt like others and leave your hands as oily as other natural hand balms. I originally bought it for my husband to use on his hands and feet but I love it too. The scent is great a mix of patchouli with other scents.
