We are now offering local delivery to several parts of Ottawa and Gatineau for $6! (see map below)

If the delivery address postal code is in one of our delivery areas, you will automatically be shown two options for delivery at checkout, under the "shipping" tab:

1. Trexity delivery (1-3 business days) $6. If you choose this option, your order will be processed within 1-2 Purple Urchin business days (not regular business days) and your packaged will be delivered the following day BETWEEN the hours of 5 pm and 8 pm. 
2. Local delivery (1-3 business days) $8. If you choose this option, your order will be processed within 1-2 Purple Urchin business days, and your package will be delivered the following day BEFORE 5 pm.

If you're having your order delivered to an office building, or a location that closes at 5 pm, choose the $8 Local delivery option. 

For condos or apartments: the courier will use the provided buzzer code. If unavailable, the package will be left at the furthest most secure location the courier can access (ie vestibule, lobby, concierge, mail room, etc).

You will receive email and text updates when your order is out for delivery. In most cases, you will not be required to be at home to receive your delivery.

P.O. BOXES ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR LOCAL DELIVERY. 

Delivery addresses must include: street number, street name, city, postal code, and unit or suite number if applicable.

If you neglect to provide all applicable address details/correct details and the delivery attempt fails because of this, the package will be returned to Purple Urchin. You can then either choose to have it sent back out at your own expense or to pick it up in store.

If your failure to provide all applicable delivery address details/correct details results in your package being lost or stolen, Purple Urchin will not be held responsible.

For condos or apartments: the courier will use the provided buzzer code. If unavailable, the package will be left at the furthest most secure location the courier can access (ie vestibule, lobby, concierge, mail room, etc). Purple Urchin will not be held responsible for any packages that are lost or stolen as a result of having been left in a lobby or other area accessible to other residents af the building.

Our delivery service provider requires a phone number on file for each delivery. If you do not want to share your phone number, you will not be able to complete a local delivery order. 

Your order will be handed off to our local delivery provider within 1 to 2 Purple Urchin business days from the time you placed your order. Purple Urchin business hours are our retail store hours as listed on our homepage. They are subject to change from time to time, so please be sure to verify so you know when to expect your delivery. Delivery will take place the day after your package is picked up by the courier. 

For example, if you place your order on a Monday when we are closed, we will fill it and hand it off to the courier either Wednesday or Thursday. You will receive a notification once it is handed off. The package will then be delivered the day after you receive notification that your order has been processed. In this example, if we hand it off on Wednesday, the package will be delivered Thursday. If we hand it off Thursday, it will be delivered Friday.
